Hallo Bubba, wie geht es dir? Bei uns ist schon wieder "Schmudelwetter". Leider :( !

I bought me the book "How to keep your Vokswagen alive" that's a funny book! but very informative. Simple enough for a dog to understand :)) I have to say it is scarry to drive the bug on the road. I am trying really hard not to get sucked under an 18-wheeler at times, but most people are nice and do keep a distance. And your are definately right about the mechanic part....I thought I'll try one time and pull up to one of those VW dealerships to have the bug serviced,....just to see what they'll say. i bet they dont have a clue what to do with them :)

Great news! I'm living in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC. You're right - Good VWs are hard to find, good deals even harder! and a good mechanic? HA HA! Anyway - if you find something please let me know - even on eBay the prices can get very high! Good to have you back. TTFN Richard

Hello Richard, good to hear from you again...and thanks about the compliments. I do have that Bavarian Racing Team sticker too! A nice person from Weiden sent it to me to put on my bug, it is cool. If I find a bug here I let you know! I did want an older one, but they are harder to find every day. Which state are you at? Here I found exactly one VW club in the whole state! I know where a bug for sale is sitting. I think its a 73 posssibly, but the person wants $1500 I believe and it is missing all the trim and has rust, no backseat and is sitting outside. Then there is a 73 or 74 with a nice paint job that hasn't moved in 6 weeks (we pass it all the time) so I dont know. Those Karmann Ghias are strange to sit in, kind of off centered, but they are cool too. My "brother" in Wyoming has a VW Scirocco (1989?!)...and yes, I'll work on my reports again now that we are done moving.

Bubba, It's been a while since I was here on the Weiden website - had a very busy fall and holiday season. Hope your move to Kentucky went well. I must say - I too love the Blue-white Bavarian color scheme in the new "Bava-Bug"!!! I used to have a (German-made) Capri that was blue and white with "Royal Bavarian Racing Team" emblem on the rear window. As another VW fan I have had a beetle and Karmann Gia convertible in the past. Recently I too have been looking for a 1967 - 1969 Bug, preferably convertible to rebuild myself. If you find one let me know. Really liked the information on Weiden's history - and all the market information. Keep up giving us this type of news and facts. I too miss my hometown at times and plan on getting back there again sometime. TTFN Richard

Aaaaah ...Good ol' Killeen. Almost moved there next month,....but now it'll be Ft Knox Kentucky...so maybe it will be a white Christmas this year?! Yes, the dog they had before me went by cargo with Lufthansa once from Frankfurt to Dallas, because "travel" "forgot" to mention him on the paper work....that was fun!

What's up Bubba Buddy! I am an 11year old Rotti-Chow Mix adopted in Killeen, Texas and been living off and on in Germany and the US. Hopefully this was my last flight over the big waters, especially after they lost me on my transfer from Atlanta to Fayetteville. My mom is from Weiden also and lives now in North Carolina. We love your Beatle, but what is missing is Aloisius! Saklzement und Hosianna, sog i!
